1 FORMS & CONVENTIONS

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Our distributor of our film is going to be Verve. We chose this company because of the large amount of films it distributes from first time filmmakers.

Our production company is Metropolitan Film.

The opening shot/establishing shot is of the policeman stressing about something that he has done in the past. This gives the audience something to think about.

The protagonist or main character in our film is the policeman because we are following his life.

Our film tackles Social Issues like teenagers being discriminated against for the wrong reason

We used a two shot when the two teenagers are being questioned about their false actions

shot-reverse-shot is used when the teenagers and the policeman are in the police station being questioned to show the characters conversing.

We used a close up of the policeman when he was making a cup of coffee and when he is typing

we used an extreme close up of the policemans hand when he is writing information down about the teenagers

The credits of our film are about the roles of our characters and everyone that helped in making our film.

The title is at the end of the film opening because it is when we see the car about to hit the teenager, thus creating an enigma

The film opening creates an enigma because the audience will want to know what happens at the end of the story.

We researched about Roland Barthes and we found that he believes that a film is either an action code or a enigma/suspense code. Our film is an enigma film as there is a mystery at the beginning and find out little details at a time throughout the film.
